Get up off the couch and help out. Not only should we be charitable during the holiday giving season at the end of each year, but what about the other 50 calendar weeks?

Rather than saying, “Let me know if there’s something I can do for you,” say, “What is there I can do for you now – you need a jump, I have cables” or “You’re in the hospital – I’ll stop by when this afternoon.”
